My last update was almost 39 hours ago and midnight is approaching, so I’m compelled to write another, although I may not end up posting every day.
This challenge has reminded me about the importance of just getting started. That motivation arises after completing the first task, not before. You can try your whole life to prepare mentally for a project, but you have to take the first step to realize any progress.
Yesterday I worked on reconfiguring tinytoolchest.com. There is now a workbench area where the apps can be moved freely, and Line Rider is updated with classic features like straight and colored lines. It was only after making everything perfect that I remembered about mobile users – this is the kind of lesson that is best learnt through practice instead of theory.
For now, I will pat myself on the back for deploying a website and 6 applications. Yes, one of them is a lousy calculator app, but at least it’s deployed. I would like to work on a few ambitious projects for longer than a day during this challenge, so these mini apps on tinytoolchest.com are buying me some extra time.
I wish that people embraced AI instead of fearing it. Claude has been a powerful coding assistant. I will explain more about my development process in the next update.
Tonight, I’m working on a Peggle clone with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. And enjoying the comfort of play-testing this classic game over, and over again.
